DISCOVER

This is where we begin, and our first step will be to get to know you and the context in which this brief has been created. We also believe in putting the customer at the heart of all our thinking to ensure what we deliver aligns to what is demanded by your audience. As a result we utilize this discovery phase to formalize the start up of the project with the team, gather all appropriate information, insight, relevant facts and a view of requirements at the high level.

DEFINE

This work stream is designed to define all of the capabilities required for the new sites, in short, answering the question “what is it to be?”. The activities included in this phase range from requirements gathering through to site architecture design and will enable us to reach a point where detailed design can begin.

DESIGN

In the design stage we move our Clients work from higher level definitions into detailed ‘blue prints’ for building. This includes the creative design process where we ensure translation of your Brand needs into a website ‘theme’. This stream typically covers the detailed technical, system and site design, but will also include details on all peripheral or supporting requirements such as publishing infrastructure, support processes, hosting needs and business processes required to support the operational management of the site(s).

DELIVER

The traditional software development cycle follows a rigid, linear sequence of steps with a formal sign-off at the completion of each before the next can commence. We recognise that today, business moves faster, and our Clients tend to require flexibility over the course of a project’s development. They expect the development team to adapt to their needs and modify the structure of an application quickly.

It is all too common to visit websites that have navigation reflecting the organizational structure of the business rather than the visitors’ needs. To avoid this we adopt a Customer Centric approach to defining the Information Architecture (IA) of a new website. This means putting the core needs of the various audience types (Teachers, trainers, advisers etc) at the forefront of the IA process. This is achieved by holding ‘audience’ sessions to determine audience needs, which, in turn, we translate into the DNA of the site IA. This process results in site navigation, nomenclature, customer journeys and content presentation that resonates with your identified audience needs rather than reflecting your organizational structure.

Additionally we deploy, where appropriate, user centric tools into websites to aid with information finding such as site searches, tag clouds, site maps, floating navigation, personalisation, and cookie trails.

Accessibility For All

We implement W3C and Accessibility (DDA) compliant sites meeting the Industry standards in Accessibility. Many of our sites run secure e-commerce, require an easy-to-use Content Management System for clients, serve dynamically built pages and operate end user services for both consumers and businesses. All of our work can be validated against the W3C accessibility checklist as this is ingrained in our development process.
